Chat restriction message appeared on 2 computers running the latest eM Client V9.2.2258 Windows

In the last few days, some friends of mine both got the following Chat restriction message error below in the screenshot using the latest V9.2.2258 for Windows and using the latest Windows 11 Pro. They use Gmail personal accounts. Might possibly be a Google chat bug affecting eM Client.

I can’t see any restriction in their Google accounts but will post a message on that forum too.

They are both Administration Windows user logins and they haven’t disabled or changed anything in eM Client to cause this chat message error.

They don’t use the eM Client chat, so just told them to click Yes to disable it, but don’t know why they both got this error.

The only thing they did recently was removed the default Win 11 Pro 48bit (Bitlocker) encryption on their hard-disks but I wouldn’t have thought that affected eM Client.

Also they moved to a new apartment block with a new ISP with a FTTB connection and using Wifi to connect to their supplied ISP wifi modem.

Apologies for this.

It is an unforeseen glitch as a result of updating our license model yesterday. We are working to resolve it as soon as possible.

Ok thanks @Gary for that info.

Thank you Gary. I’m having the same issue.

Can you close eM Client, open a command prompt and start eM Client using this command:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe" /forceupdatecheck

See if you still get the message.

Thank you I am having the same issue

Had the same problem.
Gary’s proposal to use the command line stopped the annoying messages.
Thanks Gary

Thank you, Gary! Looks like your command prompt has gotten rid of the ‘chat restriction’ message for me too.

Thanks Gary, you’re a clever bugger  All fixed.
