I changed my Gmail password and expected eM Client to stop downloading email until I update eM with my new password, but for some reason eM continues to work just fine with the old password! How is this possible? I had to update the password both in Outlook and my Galaxy 6.

Once you add an app to the list of trusted apps in Google, the app will work regardless of password changes, in eM Client it will work until you remove and try to add the account again, in which case it will prompt you for a password again. Hope that helps.
