What is the shortcut in macos?
I added a new feedback in emclient.sleekplan.app:
There’s currently no shortcut for this on macOS, unfortunately. Ideally, we’d like to improve the alias feature as a whole so that the shortcut wouldn’t really be necessary.
Thanks for advising this workaround. That helps a bit. However it will introduce a new alias that will polute the sender list of aliases. The clue of this request is, that the temporary sender is NOT listed as alias afterwards ![]()
Here is the link to the former request on sleekplan. Please vote here ![]()
Try Shift + Ctrl + N for alias that will not be saved (or Delete key to remove the aliases that are no longer needed in the saved list).
This does not work on 10.3.2412 (260ec1e)
Thank you for the report, after testing and looking into it it seems this feature was accidentally broken in one of the recent updates, we’ll get it fixed.
Did my vote there ![]()
and added a comment explaining “our” feature … ![]()
Hi,
as I am currently evaluating new Mailclients (switching from Outlook) this is a vital feature for me.
I often use mail-addresses like @mydomain.com so that I can perfectly track when a vendor is selling addresses or uses it for spam.
I don´t want to set up a seperate alias everytime before I use this address.
For now there are still a few plot-stoppers which keeps me from using em-Client - espacially this one.
The other one is resilience - it does not properly shut down on a reboot and needs to check its database often. Thats not something which makes me confident. But thats a story for a nother topic…
Regards, Olly
I like @Northlight suggestion below to have a “Customised from address” option the dropdown without having to use the Shortcut keys “so it’s then obvious to the user”. I’ve added this idea to the current Sleekplan suggestion above
Shift + Ctrl + N for alias that will not be saved (or Delete key to remove the aliases that are no longer needed in the saved list)
Should CTRL+N & Shift + Ctrl + N be working yet on Mac ? Or is this in a future eM Client version with a different combo key ?
Hey, I’m afraid this still stands re: Mac
