I tried to update from 10.3.2619 (1e54f4a) to 10.4 but during the installation the program asks me to point to the folder that holds emclient-v8.0.2951.msi. I found the folder but EM still can’t update to the latest version. Any suggestions how to overcome this problem.

Sounds like you have some sort of Windows Registry problem.
So first thing, make a backup of eM Client via “Menu / Backup”. You can see when thats completed in “Show Operations” via clicking the dropdown on the right of Refresh top left.
Then once backed up, “close eM Client” and then uninstall eM Client and “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard.
Then try running the Microsoft Installer / uninstaller troubleshooter below and once completed, “shutdown and reboot your computer”.
Then redownload the latest eM Client V10.4.4209 from the release history page below and reinstall and see if that then installs ok. https://www.emclient.com/release-history
