The last update of eM Client on Windows 11 failed today. The program no longer starts at all, and there is no entry in the task manager. A repair attempt with the current download version 10.1.4588 is immediately aborted because supposedly “fildGOnPV.Vz1wmxeuijQiCre3kCG4” cannot be found in “MailClient.cab”. A new download also leads to the same result. What can I do to be able to start eM Client again?
Please reinstall following these instructions:
-
Close and uninstall eM Client, making sure NOT to delete the database folder when asked. That will ensure all your data and settings are there later.
-
If it exists, delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client folder.
-
Download and install the latest version from here: https://www.emclient.com/dist/latest/setup.msi
-
Restart eM Client.
Gary, have tried this solution twice and it keeps reloading as before… all my data folders gone and only two folders… one called ‘Combined’ (which seems to duplicate the inbox) and local folders (all empty). If I restore, all my data folders return for several seconds before the system removes them. Repair doesn’t do anything, but at least this time I don’t get an error message similar to the one above.
Any other suggestions… sure would like to get this resolved! Also, cannot send anything to trash and cannot send anything out
