Can't send emails through gmail

All of a sudden about a week ago eMClient stopped being able to send emails through gmail. I get an SMTP error each time. It receives emails just fine, but will not send any. Emails send just fine through gmail in the browser. I have checked all the smtp settings in eMClient and they are correct. I’ve even tried uninstalling the program, rebooting the computer, and then reinstalling, but that didn’t fix the problem.

Here is what the log is showing:

Provided you have the correct Gmail SMTP settings, that “can be caused by a program delaying or interferring with the outgoing mail”. Programs that can sometimes interfere are eg: Optionally installed Antivirus programs, Optionally installed Firewall / Security programs and VPN’s. So if you have any of those installed “other than what comes with the OS”, then try completely disabling those to test.

Also if you haven’t already, try restarting your computer and your modem / router and any switches at your premesis incase it’s some local or isp network type issue.

Next also check in your eM Client Gmail account that your have the following SMTP Setting. “Menu / Accounts” (Pc) or “eM Client / Accounts” (Mac).

Apart from the above, you may need to remove and re-add your Gmail account via the automatic email wizard setup as new, or alternatively if you have been doing regular eM Client backups and you could also try restoring a recent dated backup when you know it was working ok via “Menu / File / Restore” (Pc) or “File / Restore” (Mac). Any newer emails received or sent will then update once reconnected.

Note: if you do remove and readd your Gmail account, “make a backup in eM Client first” via “Menu / Backup” (Pc) or “File / Backup” (Mac) just incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via the dropdown on the right of Refresh top left.
