I opted to get the latest update and now emclient will not open at all. I tried to repair but no change. How can I get back to where I was or get the update completed. Did not need this hassle on a Monday!
First try rebooting your computer as sometimes that might just be a eg: resident OS issue
However if rebooting still has the same issue, then try uninstalling eM Client and if you have Windows “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard. Also if the following folder still exists “delete it”, “C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client
Then download “the same or later version” of eM Client from the release history page and reinstall and then see if you can open the program. That usually will fix that issue. Make sure to “you are not clicking on an old shortcut” after reinstalling.
If you then still can’t open eM Client and “you have been making regular eM Client backups” either automatically via “Settings / General / Backup” or manually via the “Menu / Backup” (which creates dated backup.zip files by default in your “Documents / eM Client” folder), then uninstall eM Client again “and this time delete the database” and then reinstall the program again.
Then open eM Client and “skip the setup wizard” and then restore your last recent eM Client backup via “Menu / File / Restore”. Any new emails etc since the last backup will then arrive when eM Client next syncs after starting up again.
