Can't even set up new email account

My hosting company even tried and we keep getting “authentication failed.”
Can anyone out there help me??

You did not say who the provider is, so it is a little difficult to suggest some solution.

However, this error can be caused by incorrect settings. Go to Menu > Tools > Accounts and click on the account you want to configure. Click on the IMAP tab and make sure you have one of the following port and security policy combinations:

Port 993 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 143 = Use SSL/TLS if available
