Can't delete a message

I’ve tried running repair, both using the Windows command prompt and from within Control Panel, but I just cannot delete one of my messages. I’m uploading a screenshot of the problem message.

Manually running the below repair command “normally does fix that issue” as @Gary advised in another thread for problems where you carn’t delete email in eM Client.

Garys Quote:-

Close eM Client and open a Windows Command Prompt. Not a powershell, but a command prompt. Paste in this command including the leading "

"C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe" /dbrepair

Or, on a Mac, quit eM Client and open a Terminal. Paste in this command:

/Applications/eM\ Client.app/Contents/MacOS/eM\ Client /dbrepair

When that is done, restart eM Client as see if you still have the issue.

However if you still carn’t delete the message and its not showing online in your mailbox, then try “right clicking” on the problem account Inbox folder or specific mail folder / label and click “properties” at the bottom. Then click the “repair” tab at the top and lastly click “repair”. If it a Gmail account right click the “All Mail” folder.

That clears the local eM Client cache which should then hopefully fix that. You messages will initially be slower to reread till fully cached again.

Now if the folder / label repair option makes no difference and the deleted message is still there, then you have two options. One is if it’s an IMAP, Exchange, Office 365 or iCloud (Non POP) account is to “remove and readd” the account which then definitely should fix that problem.

Or alternatively if you have been making regular eM Client backups either automatically via the Settings or manually via Menu / Backup, you could restore a recent dated backup “when you were able to delete messages ok” via “Menu / File / Restore”. Then once restored, any new messages etc since the restore point will automatically update when eM Client syncs.

I had to run the restore option, as the other suggestions didn’t resolve the issue. Fortunately, the problem message was only very recent, so I was able to restore to an earlier situation when the message didn’t exist. Thank you for helping me with this problem. Could it be a bug in the program I wonder?

No its not normally a bug in the program for that type of issue, and is just generally an error thats happened in the mail database for some unknown reasons.

You can always check though for the latest releases of eM Client via the release history page for whatever version of eM Client you are currently running. If you do update, make a manual backup first incase you need to restore for any reason. Also close eM Client before updating.
