Cannot send messages but are receiving messages

when I send messages they are not sent. Incoming messages are received. Can any one give help?

What email service are you using and what are your settings for sending (SMTP settings)? Usually the problems with sending can be any one or combination of smtp server name spelled incorrectly, sometimes you need to authenticate for sending with your username and password (same as for receiving), choice of port numbers, and protocol SSL or TSL

I am unable to send also. I’m receiving just fine, but when I try to send something, it says it’s been sent, but it’s still in the Outbox folder and it’s not arriving in my email account or the account I tried sending to. I have checked the IMAP settings and they’re all correct. Thanks in advance for any help someone can give.

I have the same problem today. Addressee in Outbox turns bold and won’t send.

As @Tony_W says if you carnt send mail, we would need to check what the SMTP server settings are to make sure they are ok. So update what your Server address, port & security policy is.

Apart from that click the dropdown arrow on the right of Refresh top left and click Show Operations. Then click the Log tab and look for any obvious error messages and paste them in this thread. We might then be able to see why it’s not sending.

If you are using a VPN, you must enable eM Client to bypass it (tunneling) and/or choose a VPN server in your country.
I use Bitdefender VPN without any problems.

First edit your log post and “remove the first part of your Hotmail address” for privacy reasons.

From your log you are getting sending errors eg: System.IO.InvalidDataException: Found invalid data while decoding , “which is part of the AirSync error” when sending email for Microsoft type accounts as per the eM Client announcement. See the following link.
