Cannot change the email address

I have just installed eM Client. I would like to change the email address to another valid email address. I was trying to do this initially, but eM Client wouldn’t accept the password.

There is also an “import” mail function where .PST files are used. I would dearly love to be able to leave my Outlook behind but I have ~10 years worth of emails to be concerned about.

Let me know.

Mike

If it is just another email address on the same server, so you are changing from [email protected] to [email protected], then you need to make sure you have changed the email, login and password.

But that is not the best way to do it, and it will not work if you change from [email protected] to [email protected]. And as far as I know it will not work with accounts that use OAuth, so no Gmail accounts.

What you will need to do is remove the existing account from eM Client, then add the new one using the Automatic Setup and enter the new email credentials.

I need to use option #2 ([email protected] and [email protected]). When “delete” is selected, the email account is deleted but it leaves my “favorites” and “local folders” there. I need to get back to the original position with eM Client and start over. One thing that can be done is to tell me how to check for OAuth before there is an email address created. This may be the problem. Another thing is to import my old emails into eM Client via a pst file.

EM Client is very good software. I just want to get past the beginning phase.

Yes, removing the accounts does not clear out Local Folders or delete your settings. To start over completely, you need to delete the database directory. To do that close eM Client, then delete the C:\Users\youruserame\AppData\Roaming\eM Client\ directory. You may have to enable hidden items in Windows Explorer to get there.

You may know if your provider supports OAuth, otherwise, during the Automatic Setup the standard OAuth permission screen will appear if it is available.

You can do that by going to Menu > File > Import > Microsoft Outlook, if Outlook is still installed. If it is not, but you have the pst file, use Menu > File > Import > Outlook Personal Storage (.pst)

I want to use 2 free email clients (to start with). How do I enable two separate and distinct email addresses to be used?

I received the following message from my hosting provider:

In your setting for the email client, in one place that you did not set correctly: Please replace:

mail.virtudatacenter.com (This is incorrect)

WITH

cms.dollarhosting.top (This is correct)
