Can you correct Display Name of incoming emails?

Hi Guys,

I’m getting really annoyed at people sending emails w/ incorrect display names in the field. For example -

Here’s an example - say my company is company-com
My co-worker named John Doe sends an email from jdoe@company-com (using dash com vs. dot com because of the posting rules)

what I want to get is:
“John Doe” jdoe@company-com

What i actually get is
“Company” jdoe@company-com because my stupid co worker changed his display name to Company for some reason.

You used to be able to change a field called Display Name and override this nonsense, but I think that feature has been removed from several email clients, including eM Client.

Does anyone have a workaround for this?

Thanks,
Jeff

We have an option in the upcoming version 10 to display the name from the contact, rather than what is in the message header.

Thanks!. Can’t wait for 10. Need that and the ability to change undread email font!

Now that 10 is here, please specify the location of this setting. I believe it will help my company. We have emclient running on five different computers, each with their user’s name in the email account settings. However, every reply comes back to us, directed to just one of the names. It’s always this one name. Even if I, Gary, send an email to somebody, when they reply, it says “To: Mitchell”. Why? Could he be some sort of main account holder? His name is nowhere in the email’s settings.

See @Gary post from the following thread.

Thanks, Zork!
