Can receive emails but not send them

Ever since I had some changes to my Internet/Wi-Fi set-up, including a new IP address (which may be unrelated) I am able to receive emails via em Client but cannot send them. I am able to log in to my Telefonica/Movistar webmail page and send emails from there no problem.

There don’t appear to be any Log issue as POP3 and SMTP seem OK with a green tick next to both. I do notice, however, that they both connect to the server and disconnect but that may be how it should be - I’m not sure.

I have tried the following:

  • Changing my Webmail password
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling em Client
  • Changing the SMTP port numbers and security settings

but all to no avail.

Does anyone have any other suggestions please?

I’ve also imported the AVG certificate but that didn’t help either.
