I’m kind of fussy about how my Start menu is setup. I would like emClient to be configured for ‘All users’ instead of just one. Does anyone know how to convert it? Thanks
So you want eM Client to work for multiple user profiles logins on the one computer ?
Yes, but it’s not because I have multiple users. It’s because I create folders in the ‘All user’ start menu in which I place emClient. With emClient under current user it keeps reappearing outside the designated folder if that makes sense. Basically I want emClient to be moved from the current user start menu here:
C:\Users<myUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
to the ‘all user’ start menu here:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
It’s because I create folders in the ‘All user’ start menu in which I place emClient. With emClient under current user it keeps reappearing outside the designated folder if that makes sense
Ok I see.
You could possibly then modify the registry to get the eM Client icon to appear outside of the root directory of the start menu, but I suspect the problem will then reoccur with every new update of eM Client as updates are like reinstalling.
Try searching your registry till you find the current eM Client start menu path and then change it to what you want and reboot and see if it then stays there. Backup your registry first.
eM Client is already installed for all users, so there is nothing you need to do.
If you login to Windows using a different Windows user account, you will see eM Client in the Start menu for you.
Thanks Gary, but emClient appears in the ‘current user’ start menu and not in the ‘all user’ start menu. In other words, if I go to the paths indicated above it shows up under ‘current user’ start menu only. That’s the problem.
Thanks cyberzork, but I don’t feel comfortable modifying the registry. I was hoping to find out what to move from the ‘current user’ path into the ‘all users’ path. Anyone have other ideas?
