Same problem here, following on from @Andar’s reply - just noticed my appointments were all out of sync:
This is what happens:
*Google invite set to 11am CET (9am UTC)

Receive email with attachment, open source of attachment.
ICS file has 9am UTC - 20220714T090000Z - correct. -
Click .ics attachment
emClient shows: 9am UTC in the dropdown when I open - correct -
Save entry
emClient calendar shows: 9am CET - FAIL
The fix was via the timezone dropdown UI when the calendar entry is opened… change it to another value, then change it back. Then it works.
Seems like a minor UI bug on the initialized dropdown state.
