Calendar folder is read only

Been using em client for several years without problems but today I tried to create a new event but I get an error message that the folder is read only. How do I fix this so I can create new appointments?

Make sure “before you create the event”, that you have selected “Calendar” under your email address, as could be you have accidentally selected “Holiday or other read only Calendar”

Also when you create the event, you can also choose what Calendar to create the event in “via the dropdown menu”.

So make sure you have selected the right calendar in the dropdown account as in the below example from the creating new Calendar event documentation.
