Before I retired, I created, using by business account, event reminders for many of my friends. That account closed when I moved, but the recurring events persist (good).
However, I cannot edit that recurring event (say to change the time zone, drop other email addresses off it, fix grammar/spelling…), as I was a participant, not the organizer.
I need the capability to clone the event, and send it out as a new event, with me as the organizer. IMHO, I see this as a better (but maybe not easier) route, as to the others on the event, it comes from me (versus taking over ownership of an existing event).
To be honest, outlook failed there too. If a meeting organizer left the company, the new person had to copy the event (allowed), adjust it for those on the distribution who may have gone, and send it out again, asking those on the list to delete/end the old recurring event from their calendars.
I would have gone that route, but I could not find a way to copy an existing recurring event and paste it with revisions and send it out.
Thanks !!!
