Caldav issue: was on mobile & now also on Windows

I reported earlier that I could not get Caldav calendars to work on the new iPad=S mobile app. I said I was away from my desk for a week. The suggestion was that I should wait till I got back and then try to start the calendar on the mobile app using the QR code option.

I am now back at my desktop and I see that the desktop refuses to login to the Caldav server. The calendar has a red triangle by it. I delete that account and remake it and discover that the desktop now has exactly the same problem as the mobile app. I can make the account using my credentials, with no apparent error, but the Caldav calendars do not show under Other in the list of calendars on the panel on the left.

This is a much bigger issue for me, since I have happily used the Windows version of emClient as my primary/only email and calendar application and I now have no calendar application. I have had to resort to opening the web interface for the Caldav server in another workspace…

On Windows 10 I am using version 10.2.1712 (b9ec562). On the iPad I am using the latest version from Testflight.

I have been using Calendar366 on the iPad and OneCalendar on my Android phone. Both of them still connect to my Caldav calendars. I have tested them just now by creating an event on one and syncing it to the other. I have also created a test event on the Caldav server’s web interface and that syncs to both Calendar366 and OneCalendar. (I mention all this to indicate that, whatever the cause, it is not a simple issue at the server end.)

Is there a known bug? Has it appeared in a recent update on the desktop as well?

Does anyone here have a working Caldav calendar on the iPad app? Has anyone else had trouble recently with the Caldav calendars on the desktop?

All help happily received!

Update: I checked a minute or so ago and updated to version 10.3.1524 (2e684e9). This has made no difference to the issues.

We will need CalDAV logs to disgnose it. Please enable them (Settings->Advanced->Logging) and send them to [email protected] so we can analyze it. We test a lot of CalDAV servers and all of them passed the tests for both desktop and mobile version, so it has to be something specific.

Okay. Logs coming!

@Michal_Burger

Apologies. The problem is now solved. It is indeed something specific.

The url for the Caldav calendars comes in two forms. The “standard” one (https://this-server.com) and the complete url involving subdirectories on the server (https://this-server.com/cal/users/client-name/). Usually I only have to input the shorter url into an app and the client gets everything it needs from the server. This time, for whatever reason, I needed to use the full url. That started it working on both Windows (where oddly it already worked perfectly for a long, long time) and on my iPad which now shows all my calendars.

Many thanks! I am up to speed again :grinning:
