Bug: new Event of type Videoconference does not send link

If creating a new Event, select Videoconference (Teams in my case), add participants and send,
the participants get an invitation without a teams link.

It seems eM Client is sending the invitation before the Teams link was created.
It is added to the local calendar Event, but participants are never updated to get it as well.

Best would be to wait until the Teams link is created by the Teams server, update the Event, and send the invitation then.

It is quite complex, but generally the link is created by the API when the event is saved in the calendar. Not before.

If the participants are not getting links to the meeting in the event sent to them by your server, we would need to see some logs which would tell more about what is happening. If you have a Pro license, please open a support ticket with us. You can do that by selecting Menu > Help > Get VIP Support on the device where your Pro license is activated.

Ok, we will buy our pro licenses tomorrow and will open a ticket.

I have the same problem for Years. (still on vers. 9.2) It is the fact, that the field “description” (Beschreibung) ist not transmitted or cannot be received by Outlook users. Will an upgrade to 10.x solve that ptoblem?

Yes, I am pretty sure it will

Well I just read a request for a feature from Oct this year (so that is 10.x era) that has the same topic, so I am pretty sure it won`t. But is there someone who does definetly know it is solved?

Can you share where you have seen that feature request from October? However in 10.4 there is a couple of compatibility improvements for various MS Teams scenarios, so I am really quite sure it will resolve this problem.

The feature request came from me. I discovered it with version 10.3.2622 (9cd48bf).

I just upgraded to 10.4.4195 (7d32f97) and can confirm: It now works! The description (and the Teams link, if applicable) are copied in the message body and displayed by Outlook.

This is how an invitation generated with eM Client now looks in Outlook:

The text “This is the description.” has been entered by me manually when generating the invitation. The horizontal line and everything below has been generated automatically by eM Client.

A huge THANK YOU to the whole eM Client team for solving this issue so professionally and fast!
