Is there any way to turn off the new Primary/Other tabs in my inbox?
For the life of me, I can’t figure out what it is supposed to accomplish as I need mail in both tabs and all it does is cause me to click between tabs to be able to see all my mail. There seems to be no logic as to why mail is put into one tab or the other.
If there is not a way to turn it off, is there at least some place we can configure some criteria for putting mail into one tab or the other?
Thank you. I see it is supposed to work like the gmail tabs, however, unlike gmail, you can’t drag a mail from one tab to another or is there another way to accomplish this?
Category Rules may not yet be implemented in the beta version you are testing. If they aren’t, please wait for the next beta release to test newer features.
I hope the next beta of version 10 addresses the issues with mail that goes into PRIMARY vs. OTHER. In short, there is no filtering being done here. The same mail, from the same sender, will go haphazardly into either category. There is no separation of personal mail vs. newsletters and the like.
I have sent samples to TESTING but they don’t even respond so who knows if they are looking at this issue or not.

The testing area doesn’t always respond, but they will be aware of the feedback you’re sent in. As @Gary says you will just need to wait for the next V10 Beta to try dragging to the Category you want and then see how eM Client goes in future received emails.
Ive personally turned the Categories off for now until the next Beta when I can then test the move option.
After using the new V10 Beta just released for moving category messages, i would like to see a prompt with those Category Question check boxes on the Confirmation screen for users to click.
So eg: after dragging a message or messages to another category, the prompt confirmation could ask those questions with check boxes to select from.
Yes shortcut keys with Shift and Alt keys are good to have as well as alternate tips, but i personally think where there is moving things involved like this, should also have user check box confirmations.
Q “Do you want to change the Category for all messages received from or sent to the same contact(s)” by creating a rule ?
Q "Do you want to change the Category just for the selected message(s) without creating a rule ?
Am I to understand correctly that between PRIMARY and OTHER we should eventually be able to drag mail to either category and it will create a rule moving forward and as such that specific mail will always show up in that category?
If that is the case, HOORAY. As of right now, it’s a free-for-all as to what shows up in either category.
Okay, I just noticed a new beta was released yesterday. I had hoped the current Beta would automatically update, but it doesn’t.
Now…
Initial observations…
The separation of mail between PRIMARY and OTHER seems to be working rather well. I did an initial training where what I consider to be personal/primary mail was dragged into the PRIMARY folder. If what I understand is correct, this creates a rule, and moving forward, all mail from that sender will always go to PRIMARY.
Secondly, the prior beta was always crashing when I went through my Junk Mail where there sat a hefty amount of messages. Now, it no longer crashes.
So, kudos to the team. It looks like this beta is far better than the last one.
Now we need to get the iOS app fixed. It crashes often and it’s slow to retrieve mail.
