BCC comma prefix & [email protected] Zoho Mail

[email protected] is back!

I use eM Client with Zoho Mail. A rule in Zoho adds a BCC to all my sent mail.

Sending from Zoho is trouble free. Sending via eM Client adds a pesky comma prefix to the BCC. Why?

I posted about this in December 2025.

On eM Client 10.3 the commas are still added but the eM Client display is normal. On 10.4, including the latest version, the words [email protected] are added to the BCC.

For this reason I reverted to eM Client 10.3 in 2025 but thought I’d try my luck with the latest release and installed it on 12.03.26. Big mistake. I will now be reverting back again.

Please WHY is em Client prefixing the BCC with a rogue comma which then throws the [email protected] error???

Update and Solution

I contacted eM Client directly. They were able to recreate the problem and show that the error is with Zohomail, not eM Client.

When the BCC is sent by eM Client the rogue comma does not appear; when Zohomail sends the BCC (via a filter rule) the comma appears. I have contacted Zoho and hope for a solution.

Meantime I have been able to add a BCC address to all outgoing emails by selecting my Zoho account in eM Client and add an address to the BCC option there.

As this no longer produces the rogue comma, I have also been able to update to the latest version of eM Client without issue.
