Since upgrading to eM Client 11, version 11.0.1201, I have noticed that text displayed in the message body looks slightly thicker than it did in previous versions, even though it is not bold.
My default font for HTML messages is Bahnschrift Light, 12 pt. The HTML source explicitly specifies:
body { font-family: ‘Bahnschrift Light’; font-size: 12pt; }
I have done a few tests:
- Bahnschrift Light is installed correctly in Windows 10 and is available as a separate font choice.
- The same font still looks normal in WordPad, as it did before.
- In eM Client 11, Bahnschrift Light looks noticeably heavier, both in existing messages and in newly composed messages.
- Other fonts, such as Arial and Candara, look thinner and more like I would expect.
- Changing the zoom level makes no difference.
- The text remains sharp; it is not blurry.
I therefore suspect that something may have changed in the way eM Client 11 renders Bahnschrift Light, although I cannot confirm the exact cause.
Has anyone else noticed this behaviour, or is there a setting or workaround that might help?
