I use eM Client on a Windows 11 VM and when I start a backup (Sicherung) manually, everything works fine. I added it also in the settings, on a daily interval with 5 backups to keep. Even after a week there is not a single backup that was added automatically.
I do not close eM Client, it’s always running on the VM. What triggers the automatic backup?

Could be the “Task Scheduler” in Windows 11 is either not running resident on startup, Or the eM Client entry in Task Scheduler is not there, Or the eM Client entry could be corrupted in some way
So I would first “check Task Scheduler is automatically running” on Win 11 startup and “what time it’s set to automatically backup”.
Next if the Task Scheduler is already automatically running on Win 11 startup and has a time set to automatically run, then “try deleting eM Client from the Task Scheduler” and then "disabling it and re-eabling it in eM Client backup Settings.
Next if still the same problem I would try “changing the backup location path” in eM Client Settings (Preferences) & see if it then runs. As the location path might be something to do with the problem.
Thanks for your help. I could edit it in Task Scheduler. There it was set for all 14 days, not every day. Now it works!
However, when I try to edit the task in Settings, I get the following error message:
