Backup W10 invisible on W11

Trying to move the old W10 laptop email data to a new W11 laptop. Different licenses, but both free accounts. Backup created from OLD is fine. But it’s invisible when I try to restore it into the new laptop from transfer drive. Nope, can’t see it. Tried copying the entire file from …roaming/emclient to the new …roaming/emclient. Nope, would not copy. Help. I’m leaving in 5 days and have to have the new pc.

Much easier to use the built-in eM Client backup and restore to copy from & old computer to a new one.

Backup eM Client manually on your old computer via clicking “Menu / Backup”. You can see when the backup is complete via “clicking Show Operations in the drop-down on the right of Refresh top left”.

Once backed up, go to your old computer user profile “Documents / eM Client” folder and you should see a new dated backup.zip file. Copy the backup file to your new computer “same Documents / eM Client” folder.

Then open eM Client on your new computer and click “Menu / File / Restore” which by default restores the latest dated backup.zip from that same folder.

Note: If there is no dated backup.zip file to copy in your old computer Documents / eM Client folder, then you might have changed the default backup location. You can check the backup location in eM Client on your old computer via going to “Menu / Settings / General / Backup”.

Did all this. Didn’t work because I created a new license for the new computer, and the file refused to cross-load into the new license. When I uninstalled the app completely, re-downloaded it, and used the old license to authorize it, the backup file loaded with no issue. The new license was blocking the transfer.
