Automatic Backup Initiation

Under eM Client settings I have set up automatic backup under C drive to a folder created called “eM Client Backup”. After completing the relevant settings I clicked saved.

Now I have noticed that no backup has started.

Is there a trigger we need to do to launch automatic backups after setting it up?

You can check you have done the following:

Menu ->Settings ->General ->Backup → make the entries of your choice (give the full path to your Backup folder)
Do NOT forget to select “Enable periodic Backup”
Save & Close
An initial Backup should start

It is difficult to advise as I do not know technical capability you have for Windows so maybe you can try some things:
1./ Try a manual Backup (Menu ->Backup) to confirm Backup runs
2./ Disable Backup, restart eMC, reset Backup and check again
3./ If you know how delete eMC from Windows Task Scheduler
4./ With Backup disabled restart eMC
5./ Reset Backup - this will recreate entry in Task Scheduler

@skybat I’ll look at your suggestions and steps. I am not that techy neither very naive.

One thing I am thinking of if automatic backups inside eM Client don’t work is to backup the live eM Client folder located under c:users>user name>App data>roaming to Google Drive under my Computers or Laptop. I have Google Drive running on the PC. This way it would be backing up and syncing the live folder to Google Drive. Would this be a problem or corrupt the data?

Also another thing I am thinking of is to periodically do external backup of the live folder as part of external backup strategy. Would backing by live eM Client folder while eM Client is open or running be a problem or corrupt the data?

This is just an update. I had left my machine on overnight and eM Client is always running (minimized) on the PC. The backup folder now contains a backup file and settings shows the last backup time and date.

So, the question is if the PC is on, should eM Client be running (minimized) or should it be closed in order for the backup to takes place?
