Authentication Required There was an error obtaining credentials via Auth. Ok

Originally I was using Postbox, but with the merger I decided to give eMClient a try. I am using version 10.1.4417 of eMClient on a Mac that was running Sonoma. My email account is an Outlook Free web account. Everything ran beautifully and the transition from Postbox was smooth.

Recently I upgraded to the latest Mac OS and the link between eMClient and Outlook was broken. I’ve tried adjusting some settings in outlook and deleting the Outlook account from eMClient and reinstalling as a new account but I keep getting the same error message.

There was an error obtaining credentials via OAuth.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If this is still and issue, as you have a personal Outlook free web account and getting an OAuth error, and removing and readding your account didn’t help, and uninstalling and reinstalling didn’t help, then suggest to go online to your Microsoft account “Privacy / App Access” section as per url below and remove any eM Client app OAuth tokens.

Then “close eM Client and completely clear your browser temporary cache file”. Then reopen eM Client which should then prompt you to reauthorize eM Client access to your Outlook account and should normally fix that.

If you still get OAuth errors, then try setting a different browser as default and then try again.

Apart from that suggest to “test with a new database”. To do that, close eM Client and then go to the following hidden database folder and rename it to eg: eM Client-old. Then reopen eM Client and the automatic account wizard will appear to setup as new.

“Users\yourusername\Library\Application Support\eM Client”

Lastly there is also a later eM Client v10.1.4828 for Mac available you can try updating to as well via the release history page.
