Authentication Login & Password Window Missing

After I enter my Startup Password, eM Client starts normally but I quickly receive a window saying password is missing & it searches for it but nothing happens. Then when I checked my Accounts, I noticed that my Application window with Login name & Password on both IMAP & STMP are missing. I tried not using the Startup Password & the Application window on both IMAP & SMTP is still missing. I’ve also received a window re upgrading to the latest eM Client version 10.0.3530. When I download it, it proceeds normally but when I open eM Client, it’s still the old version.

Suggestions, please!

If there is no authentication section in the account settings (no username/password section), the account is setup using oAuth. It doesn’t store the password in eM Client.

If that is so, what you are seeing is not a password missing notice, but password required notice. It is waiting for you to enter the login credentials in the web page that has opened. Once you do that, and click on the popup to go back to eM Client, the account will sync correctly.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for your reply but things have gotten worse! First of all, I have no idea what your “oAuth” means. I have tried everything that you & others have suggested & maybe I’ve done something wrong but I’ve tried to follow your instructions & apparently failed! I will say that I’ve managed to save all of my backup eM Client emails & contacts to a safe place, but I tried sending a test email to myself & am unable to send or receive anything on eM Client! Note that I have my Application password for eM Client saved & have no problem logging-in. Unfortunately, afterwards, it keep asking me for my password &, as I mentioned earlier, the window goes on & on until I close it manually. When I go to “Accounts”, both my IMAP & STMP have NO place to enter a password like it used to! I tried gMail & was not satisfied & went to delete it. I got a notification from them that my account was deleted but every time I log-in to eM Client, I get a window from gMail that refers me to eM Client that I wish would stop! Considering that I have my backup emails ,contacts, I app startup PW saved, wouldn’t it be best if I closed eM Client altogether & start from scratch? I really wish I could walk me through a recovery but I guess that’s not realistic considering the current status. Suggestions, please!
BTW, I can still receive ALL emails to [email protected] via AOL Mail!

I elected to “start over” by deleting my old account & starting a “New Account”. In the “Import data” window, I noticed the AOL Mail icon was listed & I’ve been using it as my “backup email” since my problems began. Once I clicked on it, everything seemed to fall into place & most of my server appeared to be normal! Fortunately, I saved my old Backup eM Client emails & was able to restore ALL of them, although it “took some doing”! However It did not renew my Calendar but I was able to re-install what I needed. It also did not renew my Contacts but I have saved them as a “contacts.csv” file but I have no idea how to import that into my new eM Client! I can re-enter them manually but if there is a better way, please advise!
One more issue – I’m currently using version 9.2.2157. When the window opens notifying me of an upgrade, I clicked on it, it downloads, but the upgrade doesn’t show. What’s happening here? I want to thank all of you for your support in getting my eM Client back up & running!
