authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream

I get this error message.
“authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream”

I have email set up as imap. A test message will send. Inbox will not sync at all.
All servers have been verified as correct. Please help

Two things you can check:

  1. Disable your anti-virus application, and then try again.

  2. Check your IMAP settings. Go to Menu > Tools > Accounts and click on the IMAP tab. Make sure you have the correct combination of port and security policy. For port 993 select Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy), and for port 143 select Use SSL/TLS if available
