“In the menu there is the entry “Check for update”. I thought this was there so that the programme could tell me whether there is an update for emClient or not. When I click on it now, I always get the message that there is no update. However, there are newer versions available. Is this a bug or is it just there”?
I’m noticing the same thing, my current version is 10.1.4417.0 but the Release History is showing 10.1.4588.0 available. Maybe rollout and update is phased depending on location?
My version
No update available
But newer version available

Not all release history page interim updates are pushed to eM Client in case there is any issues.
So that’s why the check for update doesn’t always download the latest release history update.
When it’s then fully tested and working ok, then at a later date in time, eM Client will push it to users either “when eM Client opens” or via the “check for update” button.
i have testet this three times with different updates existing.
There was no Message “update available” - so it must be a bug.
And what is the problem, to check updates, even it’s a small fix.

No it’s not a bug. When official fully tested updates are available, the check for update will work, and also as I advised further up when you open eM Client then you will get a prompt to install update.
So if you want to try the latest interim update “not officially pushed yet to all users”, then you can download that from the release history page.
Note: If you do install the latest interim update, make a manual backup first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. Also close eM Client before updating.
But the strange thing is: on my MacBook Pro I was informed about the new update (10.1.4588.0) and it was installed. On my Mac Studio it does not appear and checking for updates does say „there is no update“.
