Attachment preview security concern

It is becoming very common for people to embed print scripts into PDF’s which results in the printer dialogue automatically opening when the PDF is opened (I don’t understand the logic in this at all). EM Client’s PDF preview runs the embedded script. I have several PDF attachments in an email with such scrips in them and hovering causes the print dialog to open.
This means that potentially any script embedded in the PDF will run when hovering over it, including malicious scripts, hence the security issue.
This feature, if kept in the program, should have an option to enable/disable it and should be disabled by default.
In the meantime, is there a way to disable running of scripts? I can’t seem to find any way to do this.

The pdf preview is sandboxed as @Gary advised in the following thread post, so it is safe.

You still however should allways be running some sort of security software “resident” in your OS to catch any spyware, malware, or viruses etc.

I have Bitdefender on all my computers, but good to know that it’s sandboxed. Thanks

If you have some examples of PDF files that seem to run scripts even with our current security measures, can you perhaps send them to us for analysis? We are of course always open to improving our features
Please include a link to this post in your message and send the examples to [email protected], thank you!
