"Attachment history" empty

Hi there,

bought the program exactly for this feature, now the “Attachment history” (right click on email address) is empty sometimes (although there are definitely emails with attachments in the history).

Any idea to fix that?

If you are trying to view the attachment history for any emails and the “right clicking on the email address in the subject view attachment history” menu option is not working or showing anything as you advised, try doing the following to see the attachment history in the Contact Details in the sidebar.

(To view attachment history in the Contact details in the Sidebar)

Click on the Subject of the email.

Then click on the “Contacts” icon at the bottom right in the “Sidebar”.

Finally click on “Attachments” on the right of History in the Contact Details as in the example below.

(eM Client V9.2.2144 for Mac attachment history example)

Now if you still don’t see any attachments in the Contact Details sidebar, your mail database might have possibly become corrupted in some way and might need to be repaired manually.

(To repair the eM Client database manually for Windows)

Close eM Client and then open a Windows Command Prompt. Not a Powershell, Then Paste and run the following command, including the leading "

“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe” /dbrepair

Then reopen eM Client and see if that fixed the problem

(To repair the eM Client database manually for Mac)

Close eM Client and then “open the Terminal app via either Launchpad or Utilities” on the Mac. Then Paste and run the following command.

/Applications/eM\ Client.app/Contents/MacOS/eM\ Client /dbrepair

Then reopen eM Client and see if that fixed the problem

Next if manually repairing the eM Client mail database still doesn’t show the missing attachment history, you might need to “try repairing your mail account directly within eM Client” which will re-sync your mail account message folders in eM Client to your online mail account message folders.

(To repair your Mail account in eM Client)

Right click on your inbox” (or right click on All Mail if it’s a Gmail account), and then click “Properties” at the bottom. Next click the “Repair” tab at the top and lastly click “Repair”. This can take time depending on the size of your mailbox.

Note: The repair clears all the local cache in eM Client, so messages will be slow to read again untill all fully cached.

Lastly if you still don’t see any attachments, could be that you might have some problem with your current version of eM Client and it might need updating depending on the version you have.

So we would then need to know what version of eM Client you have and if you have Windows or Mac.

Hi,

great reply, really nice! At first nothing worked, but now after a few hours (? ) the attachments are listing - perfect. This is a killer feature (I tested almost every eMail client out there…)
