ArgoSoft MailServer & IMAP - no messages displayed in eM Client

Trying to use eM Client with ArgoSoft mail server - IMAP
First problem, on my existing account, no messages would load at all. Folders displayed fine, but no messages.
As I have other users on that server making the logs hard to follow, so I installed onto a spare system. I created a completely new empty account, then connected eM Client to that system. Folders and test messages appeared ok in eM Client.
So I connected Outlook to the new server & copied a few messages from my existing account to the new test account. Then first 9 or 10 appeared ok in eM Client, then it stopped updating.
So I deleted the messages to start again, but eM Client will no longer update its message view.
With 1 message in the folder the log from the mail server is as follows:

So 1 message exists but in theory all messages have been seen by the client.

Confirms 1 message exists and 0 are unseen.
But in the folder view no messages are displayed.
Is there a check missing to ensure that the number of messages displayed matches the number of messages that exist?

If IMAP worked with my server this product beats Outlook hands down.
