Now, as for the archiving problem, I have experienced that unless you have the actual words In box selected you can archive the messages on the right. If you read the unread messages in their own little world, you can’t archive them BUT you can read or not…whatever and jus to to actions select :messages have been. Once done, the will go to live in ALL MAIL for all time.

this is a 3 years old post and there are quite a few things that have changed since then so any unofficial workarounds might not apply anymore.
Is there any reason why you don’t want to archive the gmail messages with the Archiving function/shortcut?

Hi Olivia, the Archiving function does not seem to be available in the Smart Folder (All inboxes). I handle multiple accounts and just cannot go and archive in every single inbox. Any hint ?
