App hangs after upgrade, in Windows 10

Ever since the upgrade to the latest version just last week, eMClient has started hanging and crashing suddenly. Often when not doing anything but reading an open email. This was very sudden, and is now happening daily.

What’s going on, and how can this be fixed?

No Idea why it is happening, but this may help resolve the ‘problem’.

If you are comfortable executing these steps, give this a try:

(0) Backup eMC… MENU > Backup
(1) Delete any installation files you have downloaded.
(2) Uninstall eM Client, making sure to NOT delete your database directory when asked. This will ensure your settings and data remain in place.
(3) If it exists, delete C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client
(4) Download and install the latest version from Release History | eM Client
(5) The latest version of eM Client should then start with all your data in place.

I had just installed the latest version last week. That is what STARTED the problem.

Perhaps the installation did not go well and the re-installation might have different results.

We see those type results all the time…

If you do as @sunriseal suggests be certain to EXIT eM Client before you install
