[Android] Text written in response to an email is not saved in drafts

Hello,

If I write a new email from scratch and quit the window, the draft text is saved in the Drafts folder correctly. But if I start to reply an existing email and then exit the app, nothing is saved as draft and the text is lost. The automatic function to save the email in the Drafts folder doesn’t work neither in this case.

Yes I can also replicate that when replying and I just either press the back arrow or x on the Android app and it’s not auto saving drafts.

However new mails and forwarding mail “do appear to save Drafts” when pressing the back arrow or X.

I just found that out for myself after losing a long reply. Searched the forum and found your message. I hope this gets to the developer. Easily reproduced.

From reading the threads there is a new mobile app due out not too far away so hopefully this is fixed soon as I also had it again happen yesterday.l when replying which is annoying.

I only use IMAP accounts so don’t know if this also happens with other account types too.

I found a way around this problem atm till fixed.

When you Reply, “delete the reply address in the To: line” and then “type it back in”.

Then type your reply text in the body and press either X at the top left or Back at the bottom of your droid device and it will then save a draft.

There was an issue, where drafts were not saving for replies. The newly released 10.2.1435 should have it fixed.

Still as of today V10.2.1435 is not showing in the Playstore. Playstore version still V10.0.3530 from August 2024.

Also I see the iOS version on iPhone V10.2.1465 was pushed out around a week ago “which opens & syncs emails way quicker too”, so wondering how far away the Droid version will be now.

Now everybody on Android should see version 10.2.1465.

Thanks yes just got the update today and the Replys are now saving drafts :slight_smile:

Also the speed to open new emails “via new mail notifications” is also really quick now as well.
