Error when using EmClient
I have this same error when importing and .ics calendar meeting.
The .ics was sent to me and generated in Outlook 12.0 by the looks of it.
Anyone has an ideia of what it could be?

Hello all,
Could you please post a screenshot of the error window? If it allows you displaying the invalid item, can you try adding or creating it manually again?
Thank you.
Russel
The error message is the following:
I don’t think I can see which item is invalid…
Thank you very much for your help.

Hello Diogo,
Thank you for the screenshot.
Would you please send me the logs after this error occurs? Go to Menu > Tools > Operations, Mark all rows with CtrlA and copy-paste it into a .txt file. Send this file to [email protected].

Russel
Dear Russel,
Thanks for the help.
However, this problem generates no logs… I clear the logs before trying to open the file, and after the error there is nothing new there.

By the way, when I open the message with the .ics files causing the previous error, I see another window warning message:
This one does not upset me, because I think I can see the entire e-mail message. But it might be related with the previous error.
Once again, thank so much for your help.
Hello Diogo,
Could you please send me the .ics file to my email address stated above? I will try to reproduce the issue.
Regards,
Russel
Just did it.
Thanks Russel.

I also have this issue since installing eM Client to replace Windows Live Mail. It happens on only some e-mails when I click on them to open. No errors shown in logs. It seems to be related to the use of some kind of Calendar insertion logic by the sender. It is for bank appointments in the current e-mail causing this. I tried to understand the info in a Google search on imip, but it’s beyond my grasp
Hello Ron,
The file is probably in the bad format and eM Client can’t read it.
Last time I fixed this for Diogo with following order:
- Saved the .ics
- Opened it in Outlook (it worked in it) and imported in
- Exported from Outlook as .ics (it does in correct format)
- Imported into eM Client
