Is it possible to configure eM Client to work with Amazon Workmail email account hosting?
If so, what is done with setup in eM Client and at Amazon?

Hi Terry,
I am not sure under which protocol Amazon Workmail works, have you attempted the automatic setup in eM Client? Was there any error message?
Regards,
Olivia
Was this issue ever resolved? I’m not able to connect to WorkMail through eM Client either…
Amazon WorkMail does seem to use the Exchange protocol. When I look through my eM Client logs, it looks like mail server is claiming to be on Exchange 2007 SP3 (8.3.417.1). I also see a bunch of requests made with , which leads me to believe that em Client is trying to treat this like an Exchange 2013 server.
My eM Client version is 6.0.24928.0.
Amazon FAQs:
“You can access Amazon WorkMail from Microsoft Outlook clients on Windows and Mac OS X and on mobile devices that support the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol including iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire, Fire Phone, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry 10. Additionally, you can use the Apple Mail application on Mac OS X or the Amazon WorkMail web application to securely access Amazon WorkMail using your web browser.”
Based on Jörg’s comment, I tried ‘tricking’ eM Client into using EAS for this account by adapting the workaround on this page:
https://techjourney.net/configure-zoho-mail-via-exchange-activesync-support-in-em-client/
Once I found the correct server (mobile.mail.us-west-2.awsapps.com), eM Client fails during the folder sync process will a different error :
MailExceptions.OperationException: Synchronizing folder list failed due to the following error: Input string was not in a correct format. ---\> System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.

Hello Daniel,
this workaround cannot really work anymore, unfortunately, as AirSync protocol is no longer supported by Microsoft. Not to mention that ActiveSync and AirSync are not the same thing.
Exchange servers that eM Client can connect to are those that pass the Microsoft connectivity tests - https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/

Olivia
Hello Jörg,
unfortunately eM Client does not support the Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) protocol.
We use Exchange Web Services (EWS) to connect to the Microsoft Exchange accounts.

Olivia
Is Amazon Workmail still not usable at the moment?
I have a emclient licence, but I can’t use it anymore.

Hello Roeland,
eM Client support Exchange Web services, IMAP and POP mail protocols.
Amazon Workmail uses Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and can only be connected to using this protocol.
So, unfortunately, it is not possible to use Amazon Workmail with eM Client at this time.

Olivia
