All Mail folder missing

My copy of eM Client is now missing my All Mail folder. According to the on line instructions, there is supposed to be a way to re-show it. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I have saw or read on line helps this situation. Do I have to re-install the cliemt? Will I lose any / all of my emails? You are probably going to tell me to back-up my database, however - will doing this also save the current condition where the All Mail folder remains hidden / lost? I also cannot REPAIR the client as it is saying that I don’t have the CD to reinstall and this option is unavailable. Please advise.

My copy of eM Client is now missing my All Mail folder.

If you are referring to the Gmail All Mail folder “first make sure it’s enabled in your Gmail account” as per the instructions below.

1). Go to Gmail and sign in.

2). Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top-right corner.

3). Select “See all settings” from the dropdown menu.

4). Go to the “Labels” tab.

5). Scroll down and find All Mail under “System Labels” in the list.

6). Ensure you are clicked on “Show” and that the checkbox "Show in IMAP is checked on the far right. The “All Mail” label should then appear on the left-hand menu under Inbox etc.

If All Mail is already enabled online in your Gmail account, “then it must be disabled in eM Client”.

So next in eM Client “Right click on your Gmail address” above your Inbox and you can enable show All Mail folder in the menu option “Show/hide Folders”. Make sure All Mail is set to Show.

If it’s then already enabled in Show/hide folders, then “the All Mail folder might be hidden” below the “More” menu under your Gmail account.

So next open More and scroll down and you should then see All Mail where you can “Right click on All Mail” and “click Show” to move it above the More menu.

If you still don’t see All Mail under your Gmail account anywhere “but you see it online in your Gmail webmail ok”, then either go to “Menu / Accounts” and remove and readd your Gmail account via the automatic account wizard which should normally fix that.

You won’t loose any emails removing and readding a Gmail IMAP account, as “all your mail is stored on the server end”. It’s only if you store mail in eg: Local Folders or have a eg: POP account where the account clears the mail from the server end after downloading where you might loose mail removing and readding.

If you do remove and re-add your Gmail account your emails “can take a little time to come back from the Server depending on the size of your mailbox” and “messages be slower to reread till fully cached again”. So be patient if you dont them them straight away.

Before removing your account, “make a manual backup” via “Menu / Backup” first incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via clicking the drop-down on the right of Refresh top left.

Alternatively “if you have been making regular eM Client backups”, you could eg: restore a recent dated backup when you know All Mail was showing via “Menu / File / Restore”. Any emails since the restore point will then update when eM Client recconects to your Gmail account online.
