I always make automatic backup, but chose to make a manual backup which incurred an error and all my mails seems to be wiped out. The backup file exists but contains little data. When I tried to restore, there was an error message.
I copied the update file to a temp folder. I initiated a new account and tried to restore, but the function did not work - declaring the path had too many characters.
However, after deleting the file and proceeding again with restoring, a new backup file was created, which contains no data, but whose path is recognised. I copied the data from the copy of the backup file in the temp folder into the new backup file, but with no success.
Hi,
I assume by manual backup you meant copying the database folder? If you were copying the database folder while eM Client was running, this most of the time results in a corrupted database. I’m very sorry, but I’m afraid in this case there’s not much else to be done other than creating a new blank database and restoring from a previous backup.

What I meant by a manual backup was clicking on the function “Sicherung” - I use the German version - “Sicherung” is the command below “Print Preview”
