Thanks.
I have set up an alias, but how can I SEND an email from the alias? It still goes from the normal email account address.

Hi @mungodaisy
With the ‘New’ mail window open the default will be: your default@****
to the right of this click ‘V’ select your alias.
Remember that your ISP might need updating unless you own the domain
That’s it!

This still hasn’t solved my problem!
I select the alias and send the email (to my wife’s account), but when it arrives it is still from my original account and not the alias…

Hi @mungodaisy
Who is your ISP?
If you own the domain name (alias@domain) there should be no problem.
If you don’t own the domain you will, as previously advised, need to register
the specific email address with your ISP as an address that has not been
registered will be either rejected or as in your case use the default.

Thanks. I now understand.
I own the domain, but it is only used to receive emails and forward them (to my GMail account). I cannot send emails from it.
I was just hoping to send emails from Gmail but using my own alias address as the "from "address (rather than actually via my my alias address).
Mike.
