Alert icon next to gmail account

I have been using eM Client for several weeks and suddenly I have an alert next to my gmail account folder and some messages have “The message wasn’t downloaded because you’re not connected to the server.” I am connected and receive some messages as expected. I have rebooted, checked set up, etc. I have done everyone I can find in the forum except uninstall and reinstall. Cannot get the problem to go away on my desktop but no issues on my mobile device. Any ideas?

Sometimes that can happen if you have eg: optionally installed resident background programs interferring with the mail client such as Antivirus programs, Firewall / security programs, Vpn’s. So if you have anything like that optionally installed “other than what comes default with the OS”, then try completely disabling those to test.

However if you have nothing optionally installed like the above or disabling made no difference, then could be possibly be a corrupted mail account in eM Client. So try next going to “Menu / Accounts” and remove and re-add your account via the Add account / automatic setup wizard.

Note:- Before removing make a manual backup via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via clicking the dropdown on the right of Refresh stop left.

Now if removing and re-adding your Gmail account still doesn’t fix it, then suggest to next uninstall eM Client and if you have Windows “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard. Then reinstall the same or later version via the release history page and see if that fixes it.

This fixed it.

I had to uninstall eM Client, remove the supporting files (on my Mac), empty the trash folder, then reinstall. A bit of fiddling but now its running fine. Thank you.
