I noticed that my outlook.com data is synced through AirSync, not EAS.
I also learned that AirSync was the name of the initial version of what today is called EAS.
Why this ancient name?

Then why does it say in the account dialog it uses AirSync?
With free MS accounts, we use AirSync to sync calendars and contacts, and IMAP to sync messages. Since Microsoft’s oAuth issue with SMTP, we have also used AirSync to send messages for the past couple of years.
Exchange hosted accounts are different. They use EWS, not EAS, to sync all data.
