Adjusting composition layout

Hi all,

I’m a new user of eM Client and am wondering if it is possible to adjust the email composition interface to more closely resemble Microsoft Outlook’s layout? This would make transitioning between the two platforms more intuitive for users like myself who work with both systems.

Features of MS Outlook: Image — Postimages

Currently it looks like I can easily do so much more with outlook (full document editor) vs the basic features eM Client seems to offer.

Thank you in advance.

No, eM Client is eM Client. Outlook is Outlook.

That I understand, there’s a reason I’m considering the switch to your program which is lovely. However, are functions like ‘text to table’ there and other table editing options and can they be added to the interface?

You can customize the toolbar to add buttons you use more often and remove those you don’t. Use the 3-dot button on the right side, select Customize, add or remove buttons you need, then save.

To add to what Olivia has posted, there are indeed some composition features which might seem to be hidden at the default, but you can use the option Olivia mentions to add or hide the features you want to see. I’ve found it very useful!

Thanks Olivia. Are the following functions available anywhere, because I cannot seem to find them:

  1. Insert/convert text to table
  2. Edit table (shading, thicker lines, line color etc.)

Hope to hear from you.

You can add the button to insert table, but converting existing text to table is not an available option at this time.
Table editing is available via right-click on the table itself.

You can add your ideas for these improvements to our Sleekplan so they can be considered for future updates: https://emclient.sleekplan.app/
Just please add each idea in its own post, it makes voting clearer

Thank you Olivia, I’ve made the suggestion post: Text-to-Table Conversion | New Feature | eM Client
