I have installed em Client in Linux with bottles, but I cannot enter my license key. After submitting it just stays blank. Can anyone give me a tip?
It would be really nice if there was finally a native eM client for Linux. I have tested all possible clients and they are all rubbish in one way or another
After months, I just got eM Client to work in Wine 10. I was happy and restored my former backup that I created on Windows. But then a message appeared, that I don’t have an active license. So I tried activating one of my lifetime licenses and it failed. I pasted the key into the field, eM Client was trying to activate, and then it jumped back to the license activation window without any error.
Then I stumbled about this old thread and wanted to ask if it wouldn’t be possible to allow activation on Linux. Why this is forbidden? I tried to run eM Client on Linux and tried and tried and tried. Now it seems to work, but now I’m not able to activate my license. What the hell …
I know that there is no Linux support from your side. That’s why we all try by ourselves. Please let us activate the licenses we bought on Linux. It would be more than great.

I suspect it’s not that it’s forbidden and just that eg: the Windows version is eg: not written / coded to allow activation within Linux under emulation.
So you would need a specific Linux version written to activate, where I see you have recently voted for that via your post below in the Sleekplan page.
I’m happy to report I found a way to successfully activate eM Client running on Linux. I used Lutris. First under Wine Configuration set the Windows Version to 8.1. Windows 10 and 11 causes eM Client to use the Microsoft Store version and that doesn’t allow for inputting a license.
Then under Runner options you need to set it to GE-Proton (Latest). Wine 11.2 doesn’t work, only Proton based ones. Crossover also doesn’t work, but I might contact them to see if they can get it working.
I’m thinking about making a Lutris web installer so it’s all automated and easier for everyone. I’ve made it work really nicely by installing the required fonts and editing the wine registry to allow for double-clicking on attachments to open natively on Linux.
