A HUGE Thank You to eM Client Developers

I have been a multi-licensed user of eM Client for 2-3 years

As a long-time user of Apple Mail and PostBox, I was quite vocal and critical of the development team about the missing features that I believed hindered my productivity.

Licensing three devices with lifetime updates was an expensive investment, yet for the past few years, I found myself returning to Apple Mail and PostBox due to the absence of certain features. Furthermore, I felt that the development team disregarded customer feedback and failed to provide any updates or insights into their plans.

Things took a sudden turn a year ago. The developers introduced a forum where users could share and request ideas, and then vote on them. Last summer, version 10 was released, which included AI features that I believed were the most significant missing feature from the email client. At this point, eM Client was placing themselves on the market as a true competitor to everything else that was out there.

Over the past few months, there have been so many features added that it has had my head spinning. My biggest gripe was the lack of directional delete. That was just added. You can now add custom sounds when you send or receive mail. The amount of time to undo a send has been extended. These are all things that I wanted to see added, and I am elated to see they were.

Of course, my gains are not everyone else’s gains. There will always be a never-ending list of requests from eM Client users of things they want added — especially those users who have migrated from PostBox. However, reading the latest announcement regarding the new version 10 Beta, it’s obvious to see that the developers have been attempting to meet those requests.

This email client was a costly investment for me, but I had to trust the developers that they would keep improving it. They’ve done just that, and I no longer use Apple Mail. On the mobile side, I use eM Client on both my iPhone and iPad instead of the stock mail app. I do think there’s room for improvement, especially in terms of overall speed, but after seeing the improvements on the desktop side, I’m willing to give them more time to develop the mobile clients. I also appreciate that we’re getting these apps for free.

Thank you so much for your post!!!

I’d like to add my appreciation here. I’ve been using Postbox for a number of years (and Eudora in previous times), where I relied heavily upon the organisational and search features, in particular. I was a bit shocked when Postbox announced they’d be winding down very rapidly but was interested when it became clear that eM Client would seek to capture former Postbox users. In fact, eM Client had been one of the options I was looking some time ago, when I ultimately decided to go for Postbox!

I liked the way eM Client had evolved since I last looked at it. I was also pleased some of Postbox’s features were being brought to eM Client and that jumping ship would be made fairly smooth. After testing eM Client, I had some questions for the team. Juraj has been extremely responsive and helpful. The responses I received were in part why I decided to make the switch to eM Client.

Whether it is software or other products, I think companies can overlook customer support, relying instead solely upon shipping their next product and then hoping that is enough. Having a team that listens to customers and that is patient, responsive, and helpful can play a big part in both attracting new customers and retaining existing ones.

I was looking for this to say thank you.

The eM Client is no small thing.

For me, the critical tasks are composing emails on a Mac so that they look good and secure when they arrive in Windows Outlook.

So not messing around with fonts, taking good care of attachments and inline images, and S/MIME signatures have been my focus. Half of this does not work in Apple Mail, the other half in AirMail or Outlook for Mac.

eM Client just works. It even embeds SVG logos without causing errors in mail clients that cannot display them.

The sheer amount of detail the eMClient team takes care of is mind blowing to me.

I guess you are using the Beta which I completely forgot :see_no_evil::

(but why is the blog post gone?)

Ah, OK 10.2 will be skipped:

Here is mine (macOS):

Yes, it is a feature that is now present in 10.3.1524 and 10.3.1567. These can be found on the release history page:

Yes, I encountered the same thing. Michal has explained they deliberately don’t roll out the update to everyone at the same time, in order to properly manage the process:
