I have to renew my driving license every three year and have set up a recurring event. However I cannot enter anything into the box for number of years! It is set to 1 but has a grey background and cannot be edited
It should look like this:
I am not sure that any providers limit what you can enter, but maybe try create the event in a different calendar and see if there is an option to enter 3.
Hi Gary I’m using version 9.2.1735 and this is what I get:
You can see that the ‘recurs every’ is greyed out and does not accept a different value. Any Ideas?
What calendar server is this calendar synced with?
It syncs with Microsoft Outlook. However if I edit the event on the Microsoft calendar it does show 3 yearly repeats
I see that Outlook.com don’t allow that. Certainly not in their web interface. And we can only use the same fields that they offer.
You will need to save the event in a different calendar.
This is very confusing. When I go to the Microsoft calendar Version 16005.14326.21490.0 then it appears to accept a 3 year recurrence.
However there is a new Mail and Calendar (entitled new Outlook - which I am not using yet) which doesn’t
And once that syncs to Outlook.com, how does it appear in Outlook.com?
I have just looked on the Outlook web interface and you are correct - there appears no option for the 3 year occurrence that was set with Microsoft’s old calendar app. However if I check 21st August the event appears in 2024 & 2027 but not the intervening years I didn’t bother to check further forward than that. It seems to be just one of the inconsistencies that you come to expect from Microsoft
