email disappears from inbox

When I mistakenly begin to edit an incoming email it can disappear. I can’t find it in junk or trash or anywhere. Where does it go?

When you start editing an incoming email in Outlook or Gmail, it often moves it to the Drafts folder automatically, so it doesn’t stay in your inbox. Check your Drafts folder first, and if you still can’t find it, search by the sender or subject using the email app’s search bar. In some cases, if the app crashed while editing, it might create a temporary copy, so restarting the app or checking the web version can help recover it.
