Is there a way to show how may attachments there are in a email. Like today missed a very important one for a project. Or is there a way to change the view.

You need to expand the Subject view by “dragging the bottom or the right of the subject area” depending on your layout till you see all the attachments.
Thank you following up with my query. My layout is messages on the right. Have tried your suggestion, but unable to drag anything to enlarge, unless doing it wrong.
