Zimbra Active Sync

Using a Zimbra 9 Mail Server that has the Zextras Active Sync plugin. Not EWS. How do I get this to work? I see that your stance is that Active Sync is a mobile device product only, which is not the case. Active Sync in this case is server-side.

There are NO EWS pages published from Zimbra. Just the Active Sync connector. So how can I get eM client to work properly?

eM Client doesn’t support plugins so wouldn’t work even if it’s on the Zimbra server. Also as you said eM Client supports EWS & not EAS for the desktop client.

Hi Russel,

I’m new to eM Client but not to Zimbra (15+ years experience). Zimbra Network Edition does support EWS with the right license and the EWS feature turned on, and yesterday I set up eM Client version 9.2.1796 (6a0aa35) on my late 2021 M1 MacBook Pro successfully; syncs were happening seemingly OK.

This morning, I noticed the yellow triangle containing an exclamation point, although eM Client continues to sync emails just fine. Looking in /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log I see errors like:

This is on Zimbra 8.8.15 Patch 39.

I’ve opened a Support Case with Zimbra, but if you have any insights, I would be grateful.
