Why won't eM Client run after installation?

After installing eM Client, I get the following startup error:

System.BadImageFormatException: is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1)
at System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteConnection.Open()
at DbRepair.DbTools.OpenConnection(String fileName)
at DbRepair.Form1.CheckConsistency(Int32& affectedRows, String& consistencyError)
at DbRepair.Form1.Check(Object state)

This happens immediately after installing and clicking “Finish” with the “Launch eM Client” checked.

I am on Windows 7 x64, Intel Core i7, 6GB of RAM

last post of official forum is this, if you have this problem you can follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall the eM Client
  2. Go to C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\ and rename folder eM Client to e.g. eM Client Backup
  3. re-download a setup package from www.emclient.com and install it.
  4. After you launch eM Client for the first time, if the error occurs, it will be shown in a different error dialog.
    This one provides more information. It contains a field for an email address - please fill in your email address so we will be able to match the error report with you (also preferably, please click the Show details button and copy the whole error text into that email).
